Water-only cutting

Are there any optimized settings and parts for water-only cutting available? I see a special nozzle for the MAXJET, is there anything that will fit the ProtoMax? I've been experimenting with it a bit. Cut a bunch of gaskets recently on top of 1/4 plywood with the material set to steel in Make. I've ...

Re: Cheap, easy tank cleanout (DIY "BART")

I mostly use it when I have small parts fall through the slats and can't find them, then I go ahead and clean out the whole tank. Most of the stuff I've had fall in is big enough to get lodged in the nozzle, but I 3d printed a screen for smaller stuff. I haven't had it fill up yet, but I figure I'll...

Cheap, easy tank cleanout (DIY "BART")

Made this after I got tired of having to remove the cutting bed and manually shovel out the tank. Essentially a DIY version of the Barton BART system. Total cost was under $200. Pressure washer sludge pump ~$60 Pressure washer wand extension ~$15 High pressure ball valve ~$30 55 gallon drum ~$10 55 ...

Re: Fusion 360 compatibility?

Realized that the .cps files were plain text, so I went through the code. Looks like the only differences between the OMAX WaterJet and ProtoMax Waterjet posts are etching support, and an additional warning for part size to fit the Protomax. Otherwise the 2 are the same, and the OMAX Waterjet post i...

Re: Fusion 360 compatibility?

I meant the fusion 360 post processor from https://cam.autodesk.com/hsmposts I'm currently using the OMAX Waterjet post instead of the ProtoMAX Waterjet since it supports etching, are there any major differences between the 2?

Re: Fusion 360 compatibility?

Any plans to update the protomax post processor to support etching? I tried using the omax post and it seems to work fine. Any issues using it for everything?

Local garnet suppliers

Has anyone found a local supplier of garnet that will sell smaller amounts? Shipping is obviously a big part of the cost. I found that Grainger supplies it with free pickup, but I don't know if it's compatible with the ProtoMax. https://www.grainger.com/product/GRAINGER-APPROVED-Garnet-Blast-Media-4...
