File Formats Supported by the ProtoMAX:

For Importing vector files from other CAD systems:
  • Nearly all flavors of 2D .DXF Files from nearly any source
  • Nearly all flavors of 2D .DWG Files from nearly any source
For importing vector files from artistic drawing tools:
  • Adobe Illustrator *.AI files
  • Scaled Vector graphics *.SVG files (Inkscape, Corel Draw, etc)
  • Most PDF files (for both raster and vector importing)
  • Most EPS files
For importing / exporting tool paths to share with other waterjet machines:
  • OMX Tool path files (from other OMAX, GlobalMAX, MAXIEM and ProtoMAX machines)
  • ORD Tool path files (from other OMAX, GlobalMAX, MAXIEM, ProtoMAX, and some other machines)
For converting raster-images to Vector using Intelli-TRACE raster to vector conversion, the ProtoMAX supports most of the main ones you have heard of:
  • Jpeg images (*.jpg; *.jpeg; *.jpe; *.jif)
  • TIFF Image (*.tif; *.tiff; *.fax; *.g3n; *.g3f; *.xif)
  • GIf image (*.gif)
  • PaintBrush (*.pcx)
  • Windows Bitmap (*.bmp; *.dib; *.rle)
  • Windows Icon (*.ico)
  • PNG - Portable Network Graphics (*.png)
  • Targa (*.tga; *.targa; *.vda; *.icb; *.vst; *.pix)
  • JPEG 2000 (*.jp2)
  • JPEG 2000 Code Stream (*.j2k; *.jpc; *.j2c)
  • and quite a few others that are a bit obscure but also supported (not listed here)
Custom File Filters
  • It's possible to extend the CAD importers to import new file types using the built in scripting engine. This is not trivial to do, but the ability for someone comfortable with computer programming to make custom filters is supported. For example, this might be used to import g-code files from another machine by modifying the existing *.cnc file importer sample file, or starting with one of the scripting templates.
