This is more than just a paint brush holder. These two pieces are hole tests. It will help show the strength and weaknesses of the ProtoMAX when cutting material. These two test coupons are really amazing. One of them is made from glass the other carbon fiber. The ProtoMAX cut through both with ease. Its a really cool sight to see when cutting through very brittle materials and amazing this little machine could get the job done so well.

I saw these testing coupons next to the machine with some bolts by them.

Take a look at that! A really industrial looking paint brush holder!

Drilling holes into glass and carbon fiber? Did you have to do anything special to prevent cracking or delamination?

You can use a sacrificial piece of material, Rhino Board used in place of the slat bed works best. Sometimes you can get away with placing a piece of masonite or thin press board directly on top of the slat bed instead. This technique my still have issues when the cutting beam crosses a slat at a slow speed, the blast back can wreck your part.
